Where does my sticker go?
Nowhere. The animation is drawn and packed into a file right in your browser. We never see or keep it.
Which format should I pick?
GIF opens anywhere and keeps a transparent background, but it is heavier. WebM is light and suits websites. MP4 is handy for chats and social networks. For video pick a background colour: transparency is not kept there.
Why does the GIF look rougher than the original?
A GIF has at most 256 colours per frame and transparency without half tones. Smooth gradients and soft shadows lose some shades. For an exact picture choose WebM or MP4.
Can I turn a TGS into a Telegram video sticker?
A video sticker needs WebM with the VP9 codec, a transparent background, exactly 512 pixels on a side and at most 256 KB. The browser records video without transparency, so this file will not work as a video sticker.
Why 3 seconds at most?
Telegram stickers and emoji last up to 3 seconds. If the animation is longer, the converter takes the first 3 seconds.
